Afro-Brazilian Day in Dublin

A day to celebrate aspects of Afro-Brazilian culture such as aesthetics, art, dance, fashion and food in Dublin.


Head wrap workshop by + Afro-Brazilian dance workshop with Alessandra Azevedo & Go Dance + Live studio with photographers Pati Guimarães & Hugo Vasconcelos + Photo exhibition + Lil market + Lunch with the traditional Brazilian Moqueca (fish and or sea food palm oil stew) + Caipirinhas + Loads of music & great craic.


Atlantica is the new collection designed by Thaís Muniz for, and it brings together Afro-Atlantic Diaspora {Brazil, the Carribbean, Nigeria, USA, Cuba} via head wraps, photos, video-poem, collages, clothing, and many printed textiles.

For the Afro-Brazilian day in Wigwam we would like to present:

From 1pm

- Exhibition of the photos, projection, scarves & clothing

- Live studio with photographers Hugo Vasconcelos and Pati Guimarães {Yes, they will be there doing a photoshooting & taking beautiful portraits that you can get it printed there and/or get it online}

- Turbans & Head Wraps workshop by teaching about the history and how to tie 10 models of head wraps & clothing with scarves {subscription required. Link above} at 2pm

- Afro-Brazilian dance workshop with Alessandra Azevedo (Crioula Dance & GoDance) {subscription required. Link above} at 4pm

- Lunch of Muqueca Baiana made by chef Pedro Ferraz from 4pm
